Today our company is a leading manufacturer of colour, black, white, additive and multifunctional masterbatch providing a high concentrate package for either colouring, or enhancing the performance, of plastic. A selection of high quality pigments and/or additives are formulated to your specific requirements, then encapsulated within a carrier polymer via a heat process (extrusion) and pelletised for you to let down into your chosen dilution polymer using a pre-defined ratio (normally between 1% - 5%). During your moulding process the masterbatch will disperse homogeneously within your polymer. Our products are used in a vast range of applications worldwide and will work within the injection moulding, blow moulding and rotational moulding processes and are also suitable for sheet and film extrusion.

Our technical laboratory team are highly experienced and successful in solving our customers’ design and processing issues. We hold formulation knowledge gained from exporting masterbatch all over the world and can advise you on how to achieve a bespoke finished product that satisfies all your requirements. We can help you match to existing Pantone or RAL references, a current specification in the form of a moulding or masterbatch standard or merely a colour of your choice!
We regularly review our performance and systems and this quality awareness continually results in the optimisation of processes and operations. We develop partnerships with our customers by refining our controls to meet their specific requirements. Our Laboratory is equipped to the latest technical standards and through high levels of quality control, we can offer product consistency and customer satisfaction.

Once you have approved the colour of the match plaques provided to you, then we can produce a free of charge sample for you to trial at your own facilities to ensure that your finished product meets all your colour, application and performance requirements.

At Douglas Baker we use a range of high speed mixers or 1 tonne ribbon blenders to uniformly blend materials and ensure product consistency. We operate single and twin screw extruders some with multi feed systems capable of accurately metering up to 8 different components and offer a tints, fluorescents and photo luminescent dedicated line and a naturals and whites dedicated line.
We consider our flexibility to be one of our greatest strengths, therefore we will always do our best to accommodate your scheduling requirements, and even next day delivery of production orders can be possible!
If you are exporting for the first time or require further assistance in the preparation of documents our sales team are practised in export documentation and forwarding logistics and we can produce a variety of shipping documents and certificates or statements required against Letters of Credit.

We offer colour compounding, particularly suited to applications where accuracy of colour is critical and pigment blends, most suitable for rotational moulding.
